Hello, im Amelia. Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio.I’m an aspiring artist with a strong interest in storytelling and game design. I enjoy reading, writing, and playing video games—especially indie titles that explore unique narratives and mechanics. These interests heavily influence my work and creative direction.I’m currently learning to code and build projects in Godot, while also experimenting with 3D modeling to inform and strengthen my designs. I’m always looking to grow, explore new ideas, and contribute to meaningful, creative projects.
Disco Cowboy is a premise for a cowboy/disco character part of a more expansive world filled with displaced historical people. Disco Head the character designed here just one of few ideas for this project. Other characters include a cybernetic viking, a pilgrim plunged into WW2 and others. For development I started with a base and created some varying versions to collect ideas, i then got some feedback and made two more concepts using the 'best voted' ones of the bunch before refining these ideas. I then got some further feedback on what looked visually the best, and what encapsulated the prompt the best and went forward with 'Disco Head' before doing his more rendered version I explored some different bright colour palettes, inspired by the 1970s before rendering his front and back view.
Some basic 3D models done utilising 3DS Max during my university course. I am currently learning how to involve 3D more in my concepting e.g blockouts, greyboxing and paintovers.
Here are some of my intial Wild Wild West concepts, building off of the same idea as the concepting of Disco Cowboy. This explores the idea of a western night club, I started with some basic environment thumbnails, as to better exploring the scene the night club would be in. I then moved onto the concepting of the nightclub itself. Going off of feedback I then made a basic blockout to use in reference or as a paintover in any future pieces.
The Bio Axe, is a prop existing elsewhere in the same universe of Disco Head. Encapsulating bio enginering and prehistoric times. I started of with some basic thumbnailing, improving on these inital silhouttes with some further detailing before taking it into Blender. Here I did a quick model, more so to just get the idea of the shape across. I then did a paintover over the models using a mix of photobashing and digital painting to create the final look of the prompt. A grotesque heart like axe, that pulses and wriggles with every swing.
Thank you for viewing my portfolio I really appreciate it. If you have any feedback you can leave it at the google forum link below, although its appreciated it is not expected.
